Leeds Festival
The Zeitgeist Agency - 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017
PR Assistant / PR Manager
I volunteered with the Zeitgeist Agency to help run the press tent at Leeds Festival in 2014. I have retained a role on the Leeds Festival team ever since with my duties and responsibilities increasing year on year. My role has required me to take part in an array of press-based activities throughout the years, although in 2017 I was given the responsibility of managing all of the press duties on the NME stage, as well as the smaller music stages at the festival.
This role allowed me to work autonomously and also lead a small team. My main goal was to improve upon communications and relationships between our team and other members of staff at the various music stages and have a stronger presence in those areas. This allowed issues to be resolved quickly and independently, thus relieving pressure from other members of our team and creating a better experience for our photographers and journalists.
I was praised for my hard work and management in 2017, as well as my proffessionalism in many high-pressure situations. Our team has also recieved much acclaim for our efforts throughout the past four years, improving the reputation of the festival among both members of the press and the wider public. For example, In 2017, we had over 600 members of the global media onsite culminating in a campaign reach of 22 billion. Being a part of the Zeitgeist Agency Press Team is something I am incredibly proud of and hope to continue in the coming years.
Primary Responsibilities:
- arranging and supervising artist interviews
- organising and supervising photographers on 'pit runs'
- general management of the press area
- acredditing members of press
- regularly liaising with stage managers, tour managers, and security personnel

"A superb agency with terrific staff that have always delivered for me"

Latitude Festival
Festival Republic - 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017
Artist Liaison
I first worked at Latitude Festival in 2014 as part of Leeds Beckett University's festival volunteering scheme. I was awarded an internship with Festival Republic and worked in an accreditation, this provided me with the opportunity to make many important contacts at the festival. The following year I was invited to intern again as a backstage assistant. This was primarily an artist liaison role, helping with backstage duties on the festival's main stage, although I had a variety of responsibilities across a range of different areas on the festival site.
Following my internships with Festival Republic, I have since retained my role as an artist liaison and become a regular member of Latitude's backstage team. In the last two years I have worked mainly as a liaison for the Sunrise Stage, one of the site's most popular music stages that promotes a lot of up-and-coming artists. This requires me to have a constant presence both backstage and in the designated dressing room area of the site. In this role I have to rely heavily on my interpersonal skills to create positive and professional relationships with all of those that I am working alongside, including: artists, tour managers, stage managers, production teams, and security.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Regularly liaising with artists and tour managers
- Regularly liaising with stage managers and production staff
- General management of the backstage and dressing room area
- Assisting artists with their arrival onto site
- Assisting artists with equipment and their journey to the stage
I now work full-time with Festival Republic as a Team Assistant. More information about my role is available on the 'Employment History' page.

Bartender
I annually worked as a bartender at Slam Dunk Festival during my time at University. Although only a bartender, I tried to pitch ideas on how we could make our services much more efficient for both staff and customers. This resulted in me helping to lead the team alongside my superiors, implementing a new method of working that made the process much more streamlined. In following years, these methods were carried forward and I was regularly transferred to work on other bars to further implement this system and to help the staff during periods of increased pressure.
